Here are a bunch of pictures of Syzygium flowers! While all of the Syzygium flowers found at Tuanan could be described with the same broad terms (e.g. "white brush flowers with a deep hypanthium and petals reduced or absent"), as you will see below, there are many subtle differences between species. What you can't see is that they all have very different scent profiles as well, which might help explain why different species attract different floral visitors, such as beetles, bees, wasps and moths. They also produce different quantities of nectar with varying sugar concentrations, which likely is an important factor in determining whether birds visit an pollinate or not.
